‘Famished’ Tour UK and Ireland

‘Famished’ is a collaborative project with the poet Cherry Smyth, vocalist Lauren Kinsella and myself. The work is a performance piece featuring spoken word, song, field recordings and an electronic soundtrack and is based upon Cherry’s poetic sequence ‘Famished’ which explores themes surrounding the Irish famine.

This 70 minute performance version has had three recent performances in London (Café Oto, the London Irish Centre and the Stephen Lawrence Gallery) and was developed during a residency at the Tyrone Gutherie centre in Ireland. This May and June we will take the work on an 8 date tour of Ireland taking in Dublin and Belfast Literature festivals and some more remote locations throughout the island.

‘Famished’ was made possible with assistance from the Arts Council of England and the Arts Council of Northern Ireland. See link for more details.
